The “weird jean” trend has officially followed us into 2018. All throughout last year, brands tried to sell us thong jeans, clear-knee mom jeans, totally clear jeans, detachable-suspender jeans, able-to-transform-into-booty-shorts jeans, around-the-crotch zipper jeans, and, yes, invisible jeans. (*Takes breath*) If you thought that that last one was surely the pinnacle of denim achievement, however, you are sorely mistaken. Because ASOS has released a pair of jeans that has not one, not two, but three waistbands.

a new pair of jeans from the online retailer ASOS is going viral for its triple waistband that looks unimaginably uncomfortable. Previously on sale for $38, the ASOS Straight Leg Triple Waistband Jean in Vogue Blue features three separate waistbands, three buttons and a concealed zipper, though it’s unclear how many of the buttons are actually functional.

Unfortunately, fashion fans intrigued by the possibility of having three separate waistbands cutting into their stomachs at any given time may be out of luck — the jeans are currently out of stock

Whereas regular jeans usually feature a waist with only one button above a zippered fly, the “Triple Waistband Jean” has three of those stacked on top of one another so that it looks like you’re wearing three jeans at the same time, with all their respective waistbands visible. It’s not quite clear whether it’s just the innermost waistband that’s functional, or whether you can button and zip all three, although ASOS’s website says the pair contains a “concealed fly.
